Calling all CUNY students: We invite you to join forces with UNICEF to help children around the world survive past their fifth birthday!
Improving child survival requires innovative thinking and new approaches in a number of different fields. Every year, 6.9 million children under five die from causes that have known cures. While these fatalities are preventable, developing countries lack the needed access to healthcare services, professionals, and education.
UNICEF believes that the dynamic and diverse students at CUNY’s 24 colleges and schools are equipped to offer the type of creative thinking needed to design effective solutions. Challenge participants will have the opportunity to connect to UNICEF’s global network of knowledge and partners and gain valuable experience in human development and project design. The three winning teams will travel to a UNICEF program country and implement their proposed solution in the field.
Join us, learn about the problems, build a team, design solutions, and change the world! Are you in?

I am a 32 year Tibetan-American, currently studying Video Arts at BMCC.
#1 My primary goal for life is to make documentaries about people in impoverished countries and bring their stories to the developed countries to a global connection based on understanding and compassion.
#2 I believe that to make this world a better place for the future generations to live in, we have to start with children. So I would love to know more about this.
Thank you for your interest in the Challenge. You can learn about some of the specific issues that we would like to see students tackle on the Explore Challenges page.
In the next week we will be adding login and team creation features to the site which will allow you to collaborate with other students as you create solutions that can help end preventable child deaths. Follow us on facebook to find out the latest updates on these features.
We hope you will take the Challenge and spread the word to your friends and colleagues.
